Skills training and required certifications are provided through stationary and mobile training programs at no cost. We have a Training Center in Hinckley Minnesota, and our instructors are available to train members at suitable sites throughout our jurisdiction.

OSHA TRAINING AND SAFETY AWARENESS
First Aid, CPR, OSHA 10-hour training, MSHA and HAZMAT training are provided to all members at no cost.

EXPANDED WORK OPPORTUNITIES
Signatory contractors work for both union and non-union general contractors.

QUALIFIED, COMPETENT SUPERVISION
Many supervisors and foremen are skilled and qualified members of Local 49.

WORKFORCE MOBILITY
Signatory contractors can utilize their own work force or can hire from Local 49’s union halls as needed.
