2008 Graduating Class for Pipeline Training

The number of pipeline construction projects is exploding across the upper Midwest, creating an unprecedented demand for skilled labor.  Pipeline construction increased by 75% last year and is projected to increase 30% this year.

Local 49 is responding to the spike in the market by offering comprehensive pipeline training courses for interested men and women.

This graduating class of 30 students, shown here, is one of two groups to complete specialized field training this spring at Local 49's training center in Hinckley, Minnesota. The three week national pipeline course runs six days a week, 10 hours a day.  Students are trained on backhoes, bulldozers and sidebooms.
